Bio Red
Biomedical Research and Development
Discover and validate biomarkers for precise early diagnosis strategies and develop therapies based on new therapeutic targets with native or modified cells, subcellular organelles, or extracellular components as part of precision medicine focused on perinatal, inflammatory, degenerative pathologies, aging-related diseases, and cancer.
BioRED Coordinator
Francisca Alcayaga
Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) and Biomedical Research and Development Program leader. He coordinates the different applied research projects within the program that will focus on perinatal, inflammatory, degenerative (associated with aging), and oncological pathologies.
Associated research projects
Strategies to improve its therapeutic potential for perinatal, fetal and degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis.
Derivatives of biological fluids from patients with a history of obstetric, gynecological, prenatal distress, and spina bifida pathologies.
In the physiology and treatment of degenerative and inflammatory conditions.
To evaluate the molecular content of brain small extracellular vesicles as biomarkers of psychiatric disorders and possible therapeutic applications of modified sEVs.
